Trichrome Stain (Gomori)

Gomori Trichrome, stain for the identification of muscle fibers, collagen, and nuclei.  A simplification of the more elaborate stains and combines the plasma stain (Chromotrope 2R) and connective tissue stain (Gomori's Blue) to provide a brilliant contrasting stain.  Tests for certain forms of mitochondrial myopathy, also functions as an excellent and rapid stain for parasite determination in fresh or fixed fecal smears.  Easily differentiates parasites, cysts, and ova from background material
